Who is the Artist?Amber is known to her family and friends as a loving mom, pet owner, creative spirit, and honest person. She is the Founder of Keiota Studio. Her visual artwork is bold, colorful, and empowering. Keiota Studio was founded in 2011, but it was evident that Amber had a passion for art since she was a young girl. At the age of four, she enjoyed drawing and coloring. Amber still has a binder containing her drawings from when she was 4 and 5 years old. She started sewing by hand at the age of nine, creating clothes for her dolls and a pet cat. As a teen, she was featured in The Afro Mag. She took classes at the prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. While attending classes at M.I.C.A., she started working with oil paints, charcoal and other art mediums. Amber majored in graphic design and computer art in high school. During her high school years, she became a member of the African American Visual Art Association. She sold her work at the Baltimore Convention Center, community buildings, and at local events. She has showcased her work at local salons and a cafe. During her late teenage years, she became a member of the Reginald F. Lewis Entrepreneurship Youth Program, located on the Morgan State University campus. There she was gifted a book titled "The Young Entrepreneur's Guide to Starting and Running a Business" by the Author Steve Mariotti. She also earned $500 to invest in her business.
In her 20s, Amber became a mother, graphic designer, and photographer, and she officially founded Keiota Studio. Motherhood has influenced her to create empowering contemporary art. She now owns an art studio where she freely creates thought-provoking pieces. In 2015, Amber launched www.keiotastudio.com and a YouTube channel where she shares her knowledge in art, gardening, and other topics with viewers across the world. In 2017, her first art piece was purchased by an international customer in Australia. While in her 30s, Amber hired her attorney to change the structure of for business to an LLC. In the year 2020, Amber was contacted by the Chief Executive Officer of a Women's Health Nurse Practitioners Group, who partnered with Amber by selling merchandise with Amber’s artwork on it in their gift shop to raise funds. On Sunday, August 1, 2021, Keiota Studio LLC was featured on WBAL Channel 11 news. This segment was about Amber and her event during the pandemic. Today, Amber considers herself a visual artist as she encompasses several forms of art. She maintains a steady schedule between managing her business, the YouTube channel, taking care of her family, and their pet dog. She truly believes in balancing career and family.
